It’s really an impressive feat, and of course, his art is always quite bombastic (which helps when the gag of the strip is straightforward), but always tells the story well.
However, Chris is about a lot more than that, as anyone who had read his G-Man series can tell you – G-Man is a fresh, fun superhero comic that features Chris’ striking art style that manages to be extremely simple, yet always complex enough that you can always tell what he’s trying to say with his art.
His Mini-Marvel characters even had two one-shots!
Chris Giarrusso is known to a lot of folks as the fellow who does all those cute Bullpen Bits comics in Marvel Comics, which Marvel has slowly but surely been expanding and expanding to the point where his one-page stories are in a lot of different comics, including an amusing series about multi-colored Hulks that appears in issues of Jeph Loeb’s Hulk series (written by Loeb’s daughter, Audrey).
Here’s an artist you all might have seen work by, but that’s just the tip of his artistic coolness.
I’m mostly going to try to keep from the biggest names as much as possible, because, really, do I need to talk more about the awesomeness of JH Williams, Frank Quitely and Darwyn Cooke? ‘s the archive of the artists mentioned so far!
